Fraternity Vacation

Two words: Barbara Crampton! Vermont’s own Barbara Crampton was unforgettable, and for many of us, this is where the fandom started.

Also, Stephen Geoffreys and Amanda Bearse starred in Fright Night together the same year. 

Up The Creek

Tim Matheson’s Bob McGraw character alone was worth the ticket!  

It was also Up The Creek that introduced the world to Jennifer Runyon. While she starred in To All A Goodnight in 1980

It was Heather Merriweather we all saw first and to this day, still remember. RIP, Jen

Hardbodies

For us here at the Gen X Reflex, it was Vixen that made this movie special. Long before they hit pay dirt with “Edge Of A Broken Heart”, 

they appeared in Hardbodies. An early incarnation with none other than Pia Via (Steve Vai’s lovely bride) on bass! 

We love Vixen here at The Gen X Reflex and play their catalog regularly. Janet Gardner is one of the most underrated singers, ever.  

Listen to “Love Is A Killer” from the guitar solo-out. Talk about sticking the landing! Janet crushed that in every way imaginable! 

Where The Boys Are 84’ 

While most went to see Lisa Hartman, we thought Miss “Tequila Mary”, Wendy Schaal, stole the show! 

Some of the actors received harsh reviews after its release…. though, looking back, I've always wondered if what people criticized as "bad acting" was actually ADR and looping that never quite matched the performances.

Spring Break

If we were forced to pick just one, this would be it.  The soundtrack is fantastic and the casting was perfect.  

Corinne Alphen, who was a Penthouse Pet in 1978 and again in 1981, is the singer of Hot Date (A band we play here on The Gen X Reflex)

in the movie. Just silly absurd fun! If you’re having a bad day, put this on. 

Cheap Trick recorded the title track for this movie AND Up The Creek!  

Our seven days? Spring Break!

The Gen X Reflex
